一、教学内容:

本课时为八年级上册Unit 6第五课时(阅读课),本课时目的在于让学生学会用英语谈论自己决心,并掌握如何找主旨句、实现词汇、语法、及语言目标等各项要求。课文以决心是一种自我承诺开始,讲述了何为resolutions, 种类、以及人们很难保持的现状及原因。

二、教学对象: 围场一中初中部八年级1-2班。

三、教学方法:多媒体教学

四、教学手段:

利用图片、多媒体课件以及教材辅助,充分调动全体学生积极参与课堂活动,并且能够用英语表达相关东西。

五、教学目标:

功能目标:

学会用英语谈论自己决心,并掌握如何找主旨句。

认知目标:

1)词 汇:able; question; meaning; discuss; promise; beginning; improve; physical; themselves; hobby; weekly; schoolwork; agree.

2)语法项目:

一般将来时be going to的应用

3) 语言目标:

1. Did you make any resolutions last year?

2. Were you able to keep them? Why or why not?

六、教学重难点:

教学重点:

1. 掌握生词、短语,能够用英语表达自己的决心;

2. 学会快速找主题句;

教学难点:

1. 精确理解文章句子;

2. 复述文章。

七、教学过程(Teaching Procedure)

Step I: Lead-in:

1. Greeting each other.

2. T: Yesterday, we learned something about resolutions. Did you remember your own studying resolutions? Let’s share it! (Then choose three students to share it.)

(Last class, ss wrote down their own studying resolutions and put it on the desk. So sharing it can give them some stress to focus on their resolutions and lead in this class.)

3. T: Ok, so just now, you shared you own studying resolutions. Did you remember your resolutions last year? Let’s look back in 2017. (Answer the questions)

(Use these questions to draw ss’ attention, and train their spoken abilities.)

Step II: Pre-Reading:

T: OK, after talking about last year, Let’s look at this year’s resolutions.

1. Explain the four sentences which will be filled into Chinese.

(因为本篇课文出现了大量的从句,因此需要训练学生抓关键词的能力。)

2. Read the whole passage quickly, and put them into the blank part. (Talk it with group members and give reasons.)

3. Then listen to the tape and check it.

Step III: While-Reading:

1. Read the whole passage by themselves, then underline the key words.

(学生自己找出关键单词,有助于他们解决自己读音、理解课文上的问题,还能够训练学生抓关键词的能力。)

2. New Words and phrases:

Words: resolutions, improve, promise, relationship, self-improvement

Phrases: take up a hobby, make promises, tidy one’s room, write down, physical health, have …to do with, have…in common

3. Fast-reading:

Read the passage again, and finish the tasks.

Task 1: Match the main idea of each paragraph;

Task 2: Underline the topic sentence of each paragraph.

(由每段的第一句话就可以确定段落主题,也就是说每段的第一句话就是指主题句。)

4. Careful-reading:

(1) Read the first para. carefully, then finish the first four questions of 2d.

① What is resolution?

② When do people make resolutions?

③ Why do people usually make resolutions?

④ How can people remember their resolutions?

Check in group.

(2) Read para. 2 and then finish the map.

Some are about physical health

There are three different

kinds of resolutions Many resolutions have to do with self-improvement

Some resolutions have to do with better planning.

(3) Read para. 3 and then finish the tasks.

Although there are differences, most resolutions have one thing in common. People hardly ever keep them! There are good reasons for this. (1)Sometimes the resolutions may be too difficult to keep. Sometimes people just forget about them. For this reason, (2)一些人说最好的决心就是没有决心!How about you—will you make any next year?

① Translate the first part into Chinese.

② Translate the second part into English.

③ Why do people hardly ever keep resolutions(保持决心) ?

Check the answers in group.

(三个段落用三种方式精读,可以提升学生们的学习兴趣,也可以帮助他们适应不同题型。尤其第三段的任务型阅读,与中考题型一致。)

Step IV: Post-Reading:

1. Retelling the passage according to the clues.

How?

Para. 2:

__________because these are about____________;

__________like making ________________.

Para. 3:

Although …People hardly ever keep them!

Why?

Conclusion.

2. Writing:

Write down your resolution, tell us what you are going to do and why.

Step V: Homework:

1. Finish the writing;

2. Retell the passage.
