华北水利水电学院外语系本科生毕业论文开题报告 2012 年 3 月 9 日 学生姓名 马红莉 学号 200812301 专业 英 语 题目名称 从《绯闻女孩》浅议中西家庭价值观差异 On the Differences between Chinese and Western Family Values from Gossip Girl 课题来源 Self-selection 选题背景及意义 Making its debut in 2007, the idol drama Gossip Girl has been catching many young viewers in China.Soon after it was broadcast, the New York Times made a comment on this drama, named The Genius of Gossip Girl, which praised it as the best TV play ever.Then we can guess there must be some reasons why it is so popular.As many other fans, I love this drama very much, not only because there can be a gossip girl in our real life, but also because the tool-blog used by the gossip girl in the drama is related to our daily life closely.And during the process of watching this TV play, I found many of the main characters’ behaviors or thoughts were different from our Chinese.Then my curiosity drove me to collect some relevant information, and from it I learnt that there were many differences between Chinese family value and western(of course here we mainly talk about America)family value, which contributes to the different behaviors and thoughts.Take personal independence for example, in China, parents don’t expect their children to depend on themselves even when they grow up, let alone when they are young.But in America or other western countries, children are expected to have their own thoughts when they are very young, and when they are at the age of 18, they have to left their parents and stand on their own two feet.Certainly there are many other elements of family value have effect on children in China and western countries.Like many other article related to the difference between Chinese and western countries, this topic-the difference between Chinese and western family values has been studied and written by many famous people.Different from their excellent
