这本书中的主人公身上都有中国人的影子，她们有的带着中国人思维方式，有的迷信、有的将中国的五行之说用到生活中，但是她们的结局都不是很美好。书中的一个故事《游戏的规则》，以一对母女为主角，书中的小女孩因受到哥哥们的影响，开始研究象棋，在一次小型比赛中表现出众后开始参加各类大型比赛，在当地赢得了很多关注，被誉为第一天才棋手。父母因此很开心处处纵容着这个小女孩，妈妈还会经常骄傲地告诉别人，她的女儿是谁，终于有一天，小女孩告诉母亲不能将她作为她炫耀的资本，那些荣耀不是属于母亲的。故事以女孩梦到自己比赛结束，这样一个普普通通的小故事，很有生活气息和画面感。
另一个故事《来自墙外的声音》讲的是一个家庭充满起伏的生活，她们一家三口生活在一个小镇上，一家人生活平淡而安稳，一天父亲升职了，他们搬到了一个小别墅里，在那里，他们的生活并没有原来那么平稳，来到陌生的环境，他们遇到了各种不便，有一天，女孩和母亲去买菜。在回来的路程中她们遇到了一个醉鬼，在最危险的那一刻母亲放开了女孩的事，所幸有惊无险，但是这件事却成为了母亲心中的一颗刺，母亲一直很愧疚，回家后母亲更是有很多奇奇怪怪的举动，她开始在家里念念叨叨的，还会各种捣腾家具的摆放，父亲对此一无所知，他觉得这一切都是正常的，但是女孩知道，母亲这些行为是因为母亲内心的不安全感，还有母亲的内疚一直压着母亲，有一天，母亲流产了，母亲从此郁郁寡欢，父亲对此束手无策，她们一个家庭都陷入了这样的伤痛、烦闷中。与此同时，女孩与她房间隔壁的女孩成为了朋友，那个女孩与母亲一起住，但是她们的感情并不好，经常会吵架，女孩一边为朋友担心着，一边又在沉重的家庭氛围里感到非常不安，终于她开始将注意力转到了其他地方，在母亲面前假装悲伤不存在，慢慢地，大家都默契地没提那件悲伤的事，她们的家庭陷入了一种诡异的范围里，平静而没有生气。这是我读到的印象比较深刻的两个故事。
刚开始看这本书的时候感觉很难，因为生词很多，很多内容读不懂，所以就一边看一边查单词，但是这样速度非常慢，慢慢地，我开始不查字典，不懂的就猜，读书的速度开始提升，有时候还会看到一些很有趣的小故事，会想知道后面都发生了些什么，慢慢地能够了解人物的性格，不同主人公命运的走向，看到她们每一个不同寻常的行为带给她们的命运。但是这本书有一个特点就是主角不停地换，外国人取名字和我们大不一样，很多时候根本搞不懂人物关系，好不容易读到自己喜欢的故事，结果下一章就不是那个主人公了，或许那种长篇小说比较适合我。

The protagonists in this book have the shadow of Chinese people.Some of them have the Chinese way of thinking, some are superstitious, and some apply the Five Elements of China into their lives.However, their endings are not very happy.There is a story in the book, “Rules of the Game”.Influenced by her brothers, the little girl in the book begins to study chess.After performing well in a small competition, she starts to participate in various large competitions, and she won a lot of attention in the local area and is known as a first-day chess player.The parents happily indulged the little girl everywhere, and the mother would often proudly tell others who her daughter was.Finally, one day, the little girl told her mother that she could not be used as a bragging right.The glory was not for her mother.The story ends with the girl dreaming of her own competition.This is a common story, which has a sense of life and picture.Another story "the voice from the wall"is about a family is full of ups and downs of life.They live in a small town, family life is simple and safe, one day the father got a promotion, they moved to a cottage, where their life is not so smooth, came to the unfamiliar environment, they met with a variety of inconvenience.one day, the girl went shopping with her mother.On the way they back, they met a drunk in the most dangerous moment, the mother let go of the girl, and narrowly missed.But it became the mother of a thorn in the heart, the mother has been very guilty.Returned home the mother has a lot of strange behavior, she began to soliloquize at home and also all kinds of ingredient of furniture put.The father didn’t know anything about it, He felt that everything was normal, but the girl knew that the mothers behavior was because of her mothers inner insecurity, and the guilt had been pressing her mother.One day, her mother had a miscarriage, and her mother was depressed from then on.Her father was helpless, and their family was in such pain and depression.At the same time, the girl became friends with a girl next door to her room.That girl lived with her mother, but their relationship is not fluent, often quarrel with each other.The girl worries about her friend, while the heavy family is very disturbing , finally she turned its attention elsewhere, pretended not to be sad in front of the mother, slowly.There was a tacit silence about the sad event, and their family fell into an eerie limbo, calm and lifeless.These are the two most impressive stories I have read.It’s hard to start, because a lot of new words, so much content that I dont understand, so I consult the dictionary while watching, but it is very slow.I began to not use the dictionary slowly, without understanding, just guess.The reading speed began to improve.Sometimes I read some interesting small stories, I would want to know what was going on behind.Gradually, I can understand the characterspersonalities, the fates of different protagonists, and get the fate brought to them by each of their unusual behaviors.However, a feature of this book is that the protagonists keep changing.The names of foreigners are very different from ours.In many cases, I do not understand the relationship between characters at all.
