读完歌剧魅影后我认为，埃里克是上帝的杰作，也是上帝的挫作。他拥有美好的嗓子，可以发出天籁之音；他拥有聪明的头脑，利用镜子，绳子和秘密门做了许多事。甚至在湖上搭房子。但他有一张丑陋的脸，人见人恨。他把自己囚禁了，甚至他爱的人。埃里克明白了一点：爱是需要给人自由，而不是囚禁。他得到了克里斯汀的吻后，放走了一个美丽的灵魂却只拥有一个畸形的身躯里，过着见不得阳光，阴暗的地下生活。波斯人，和拉乌尔，让他们去过上幸福的生活。埃里克自杀了。死亡也许是他最好的结局。这位音乐天使最好的归宿就是拥入上帝的怀抱。光的世界它无处容身，那么，在上天让他施展自己，放开自己，光芒万丈！
